Many game developers are learning that Free-to-Play games don't have to be mediocre and cheap these days. Take League of Legends for example, the fan base is booming and Riot is still profiting for several reasons. Riot takes a lot of time in developing a quality title that is consistent and desirable for replay. Even though the game is free to play Riot manages to make tons of profit from gamers who choose to purchase points and products which improve their in game play. Perfect World is doing the same by providing a variety of different MMOs that fans of different genres can enjoy.
